Your friendly neighborhood Vinyl Ape’s recent dance with the hideous bitch goddess of illness continues.

Turns out, for the past 5 days, I’ve had a brutal case of pneumonia, with the extra bonus caveat of a sinus infection.

And as an added bonus, both my wife and son have started to take on some of my symptoms.

Lucky for them, we’ve gotten ahead of it and they are now on the proper medication, as am I.

Doctor: “Push! Push! You’re almost there, I see the head! One last big push! Here we go!”

The being then starts to cough, hack phlegm and snot everywhere, vomit, shake…

Doctor: “Congratulations! It’s a pneumonia!”

Kill me now.

Thank you to everyone who answered my Mac word processor questions, and to the tech wiz WhatsApp group for being so helpful. I’ve decided on Pages. It is accessible, easy to use, and works well with my Word documents. Motivation was hard today. I am still sick with this sinus infection that refuses to let go. I had a fairly quiet day today. Still recovering from this sinus infection, so I mostly rested. Managed a little study, which felt good. Spent some time pondering things I won’t go into here. Ended the day listening to The Mushroom Case daily podcast.

I've been a bit absent from social media lately. I haven't been feeling any better, so I went to the hospital yesterday (UPA Sul in Florianópolis). I was treated very well. They ran several tests, and in the end, the doctor diagnosed me with Acute Sinusitis and suspected a bacterial infection. She prescribed several medications, including antibiotics — and the best part: I got everything for free. The entire treatment was free of charge. Long live SUS, Brazil’s Unified Health System.
