(Indigo:) We went to Paralyzed Veterans in Silverton and they gave us a new manual wheelchair! They're also going to deliver a POWER CHAIR on Monday 🎉 They said to spread the word if we can! They're having trouble making sure people know they exist as a resource.  

This is the new manual wheelchair! It doesn't look too different from our current/now-backup manual chair from this angle, but the footrests are 1. not broken and 2. the correct length/height for our 6'0 self. They go out in front more. Also, it's significantly easier to self-propel!

And I'm really excited for the power chair! We're going to try going on public transit!!!

While we think about #Jasper, Slocan Valley is facing similar dangers. The fire jumped Slocan Lake from Valhallas Provincial Park and is now just north of New Denver.

Silverton has been evacuated and a friend of mine has bags packed watching the flames on three sides of her.
