Last night, I attended a meeting inside the former headquarters of #Signetics, which I remember for its integrated circuits including the fantastically-popular #NE555 timer (1972) and the never-released 25120 "fully encoded, 9046×N, Random Access, write-only-memory" (WOM, 1973).

Started in 1961, Signetics in 1964 became--by far--the largest chip maker in #SiliconValley.

The building still shows hints of where the fab was.
