A forest department team from Son Gharial sanctuary in MP's Sidhi was held hostage and assaulted by the sand mafia during a midnight crackdown on illegal mining. The officials, who had seized tractors, were surrounded and attacked by the suspects before they fled. A case has been registered, and a hunt is on for the accused.
