Da meine Außendienstfähigkeit ja nun ohnehin Geschichte war, hatte mich vom Enthusiasmus meiner Tochter anstecken lassen, die in meinem alten KarateVerein trainierte.
Sie im Gi zu sehen und die ( jetzt etwas älteren) alten Haudegen beim Abholen...es juckte mich in den Füßen.

Ich hatte schon so oft gehört, wie Leute den #Shotokan Stil als zu repetetiv und mit zu viel Kata/Form empfinden und man könnte meinen, dass ausgerechnet ein #ADS Hirn

Yesterday I did Bassai for the first time on my own. Still TONS of stuff to improve but I'm happy with the groundwork and that the pattern has clicked.

Because we had mostly seniors yesterday, I also had my very first attempt at Kanku. Many familiar patterns from other Heian Katas. I like the double kick at the end.

I had an amazing #karate weekend. I had the opportunity to attend a seminar (4x 2h) that was lead by a 68y old japanese-american who was a direct student of Tsutomu Ohshima, who was a direct student of Gichin Funakoshi (the father of Shotokan Karate). Incredible. This makes everything more special!
