This week's #JukeboxFridayNight theme is #Medicine. Here's the Olympics doing their version of the classic Rudy Clark & Artie Resnick song, which was later a #1 US hit for the Young Rascals:

The original version of the song had been recorded by Lemme B. Good (Mercury 72418), but while musically similar, it has a different set of lyrics, with no reference to illness or doctors. Rudy Clark is the sole credited author on that version, so I'm guessing that it was Artie Resnick who came up with the new lyrics.

This fabulous clip is a live performance from the ABC TV show "Shindig!", originally aired on June 9, 1965. She was 19 at the time.

In 2004, I had a chance to see her sing this song (and quite a few others) at a Finnish blues festival. She was very good. I think I may have also had a brief chat with Heikki Suosalo, who did an interview with her, published here:
