Man suspected in ambush killing of Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy charged with capital murder, aggravated assault

Fernando Esqueda, a five year veteran of the sheriff's office, was repeatedly shot by Ronald Palmer, Jr. late Wednesday, officials say. Deputies were searching for Palmer after he reportedly pistol whipped a Little Caesars employee after receiving an incorrect order.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man who shot and killed a deputy Wednesday night after he received the wrong order at a northeast Houston pizza restaurant and assaulted an employee, officials said.

Harris County deputy shot, killed by man who assaulted pizza restaurant employee, officials said

Upon arriving, deputies could not locate the man, but the employee was able to identify his vehicle and license plate number. Deputies used the FLOCK camera system, which found the vehicle had been detected several times at a specific location.
