Reflections on my shelving
(boring or what?)

The shelving system I bought from Shelfstore (Shelfstore.co.uk) is excellent.
It's adjustable and completely customisable. Sturdy and built to last.
The website is completely accurate in the description of the system.
Delivery was by DX on my chosen day - but not cheap. The packaging was verging on overkill, but certainly avoided damage in transit.

What isn't made clear is that you definitely need the rear cross-braces to stabilise the system, and you can't have a shelf level with the top of the supports.
The system comes with a moderate price tag, but it's certainly better than Ikea quality, with many more options.

Need help for my tired brain. Any suggestions for levelling my #lundia #shelving? I believe the wall is roughly vertical, but the floor isn't quite level, so it leans out slightly. I guess the usual thing would be a wooden shim under the front. I don't want it (them) to be easily kicked out, though. Currently I'm looking at the unused wooden KFC spoons on/under my desk ...

Attached: 1 image One interesting tip: The instructions say to use a rubber mallet to assemble. Don't use a rubber mallet to assemble the cross-pieces. It's a lot of noisy banging that achieves nothing whatsoever, apart from leaving marks. Instead, twist the bottom of the bars inwards, around a longitudinal axis. There's just enough play that they will shorten the distance slightly, allowing the hooks on the cross-pieces to reach the holes in the bars and slip in easily. #shelving

A poor substitute for a @lindasgoluppiart task.

Today:

For 1 minute, consider the humble battery-powered hand-torch. It has so many uses. You can demonstrate conic sections with it. Or Plato's Cave. Or the a-causal nature of things that apparently propagate faster than the speed of light. Or Morse code.

But you cannot hold it, and bang a hammer, *and* hold a set of shelves steady; all at the same time.

Two-person job, the instruction sheet says.
