You aren't amazed enough by #shells. Get more amazed. A tiny critter made this, from the inside out, with goop and likely never saw, nor had any notion, what it looked like from outwith. And this isn't even an especially impressive shell. No wonder shells were currency in some places. Nature is the best.

Commonest bivalves on a beach yesterday (clockwise from top left) :

Seven x Cerastoderma edule
Seven x Lucinoma borealis
Five x Chamelea gallina (?)
One Spisula solida
One Arctica islandica

These shells are found on many sandy beaches in the Ross of Mull, but the relative abundances vary a lot from place to place, even on apparently similar beaches near to each other... @dantheclamman
