@elverkonge @An0n It may surprise you to learn that some people, me included, sometimes find that shaving works great (depending on blade freshness, blade style and count, technique, and growth) with:

a. No lubrication or cream at all
b. COLD water (some with sensitive skin like me have apparently found this to work better than warm)
c. Warm water but just the stuff clinging to your face after a hot shower
d. No water at all

In fact, we have found that at least in some cases, using "recommended" shaving creams causes blades to dull significantly faster, leading to an increase in blade refill purchases, and that without a suitable counter-technique, some cartridge-style refills are DESIGNED to clog so that they require replacement sooner.

We recommend giving each of these a try individually, with an open mind, and great care. It is not one size fits all.

If anyone is interested in a very simple technique to make cartridge blades that are designed to clog last longer, let me know.
