Okay, now I've got the spoons to make a post about the @coopartisans 1 Year Anniversary Membership Drive. 🎉

I joined Artisans Coop during the first membership drive, in 2023. Even before setting up a storefront there, the Coop has in some way facilitated almost every sale I've made so far. The fact that it's a cooperative, combined with quite a few members also being with the Indie Sellers Guild, is really exciting to me as someone who really isn't a fan of the exploitative nature of how platforms like Etsy or Amazon work.

I also feel strongly about the platform itself because I share in equal ownership of it -- something I got to do by paying $10 and then spending time helping in small ways to keep it functioning. I haven't had the spoons to do a whole lot through most of the year, but I recently joined the marketing team and the verification team, so I'll be writing blog posts and helping to keep the marketplace free of dropshippers and resellers.

I already wrote a blog post about the membership drive, but that hasn't gone up yet. I'll definitely share it when it does.

Handmade Hearts' 20€ transition sale will END the morning of October 1st. While the sale hasn't resulted in a total inventory dump as I'd had my fingers crossed for, I have sold the first several items that went up and received my first overall shop review. That's huge! The 20€ sale picked up the first week of September, but no one's bought anything since. Now I'm wondering if I should continue the sale until I'm cleared out of current inventory like I'd planned, or if I should limit such a massive pennies-an-hour sale to just one month.

After all, I don't want it to stick around so long it looks like "the norm".

Hmm... Yes, I think the absurdly-low-wage sale will have to end when the spooky times begin.

This is the oldest item in my shop. I made it in 2021 and had it up for sale briefly on ko-fi. My first sale was another bag just like it. It's followed me from Germany to the US and then back to Germany again in the chaos of the last few years of my life. There are pictures of it in progress in the $3 pattern you can also find on my storefront. I'm not sure if I'll sell any more like it because of how small it is relative to the time it takes to make (maybe just by request).
