#hashtags are great, but they're not enough, at least not in this incarnation. The #fediverse is great, and #sharded #instances are very cool, but they're also not enough.

For #MassAppeal, you need stronger mechanisms for driving interconnection. You need #algorithms. IMHO.

I realize that's somewhat antithetical to #Mastodon's raison d'être, but is there harm in having opt-in, transparent algorithms built as a layer on top of this for those #Twitter converts that really want it?
