Getting parts together to do some badly-needed #shadetree work on one of the family cars. Fortunately, the flywheel is really easy to swap on this car once you get the transmission out.
🇨🇦 CowMan 🇪🇺 🇺🇦 🇲🇽Brakes on one corner running a bit hot. Considering new calipers, pulled the parking brake cables.. but all three seem just fine.
Unfortunately, one side has quite a bit of play in the parking brake shaft and the other has been leaking brake fluid into the adjuster area.
Guess next spring, will probably try my hand and rebuilding these myself. Until then, adjusted and put back together.
Good chance to deep clean the wheels while they were off.
When the taillight assembly is busted and you've got covid so you can't get to the junkyard but you're also originally from Outer Redneckistan so it's not a problem. #shadetree #mechanic
Tonight's "I almost got the AC fixed before the #heatwave" task seemed easy enough: remove the single 10mm bolt holding the clutch cover, remove the cover, take all the spacers out of it, and put it back. Getting to that 10mm bolt only took about two and a half hours though: the compressor is right up against the crumple zone for the bumper. Much creativity was required, as well as a great deal of swearing. But it's done and I didn't have to take the car to a proper mechanic to have the refrigerant recycled and remove the compressor so I'll call that a win. #shadetree things.

Looks like the missus's Pilot has an exhaust leak. Well, sounds like it does might be a more apt phrase.
I was really hoping all the noise was from the heat shield, which was split; but alas, got it out - but that was only a source of 'a lot of noise'.
Nothing is loose, I can't quite get in there to tell, but I really hope this is a gasket and not a bad cat. That sucker is expensive.
No time to driveway this, off to the muffler shop :(
