@Andrewpapale I don’t think so. I’m seeing the same thing - all replays don’t necessarily have a detected ripple associated to it, but the tetrodes are definitely able to detect ripples.
Of course you could say that my tetrodes are weird as well or that what I’m seeing is theta sequences… But my best guess is that ripples are just so variable that sometimes they are extremely clear and sometimes not.

Ha, here’s even an example from my #SFN23 poster which is in my corridor right now… you can see that event 603 recruits lots of cells, the raw lfp is really not in theta mode but it comes with a subthreshold ripple. I’ll add the full pic for legend.

Reading two very interesting articles for #JournalClub:

also, not that anybody cares but I met first author Mari Sosa for the first time at #SFN23 and it was so great to finally see her IRL! I wish she was on here!

While in Washington, DC, for the Society for Neuroscience’s annual meeting, the Dana Foundation teamed up with the American Brain Coalition, Allen Institute, and NW Noggin to host “Brains, Bagels, Synapses, & Schmears,” a social aligned with the Congressional Neuroscience Caucus. In #SFN23 discussions I realized people can have very different definitions of “planning”.

Can we try an experiment? Without looking it up (answers to this post included), can you write down the first definition of “planning” that comes to mind, and then write down your research specialty (if you are a researcher) at the end? There are no wrong answers and anyone can contribute! 🙏

#SFN23 poll: did you test positive to #Covid19 either during or after the conference?

(For context: SFN is a #Neuroscience conference with more than 20000 people and very few were masked)

I tested positive
2.6%
I did not test positive
20.5%
Don’t know: I did not test
7.7%
I was not at SFN / see results
69.2%

Wore a mask all through #SfN23, avoided covid, only to get sick with a normal ass flu for the first time since 2019 and thats just annoying

I almost forgot about this but check this old #HippocampalReplay poll which should make more sense now in relation to my #SFN23 poster ⬇️

Or that all replay trajectories are actually related to consolidation / generalization / other memory-oriented mechanisms? Discussion & questions welcome! 1/2 Poll in Post 2 ⤵️

One of the most heartwarming moments for me was seeing two participants in the #DisabledInSTEM Mentorship Program meet up at #SfN23!

It's amazing to know that these virtual connections lead to in-person friendships!

Anyone found a way to see which of the #SFN23 poster that are in one’s “planner” have an attached poster?
So far it seems that the planner and the “virtual component” are independent? 🤔
