#SFMOMA now has a sample of vanta black on view. It’s super interesting to see it in person. My first thought was that it wasn’t as good as I thought. I could see a bit of a circle on the flat board. I was trying to figure out if there was a different finish on it that made it visible. Walked around to the placard and looked back at the sample. Turns out it was a 3d object. Had me fooled! It really did look flat from straight on.
