#Movies

I just watched Guillermo del Toro's remake of #Frankenstein which was produced by #Netflix & is in VERY limited release.

So limited is its distribution that it wasn't showing at my local #AMC but only in small town's theaters, like the Vine in Livermore, and, as it is with such releases, don't blink or it will disappear before it's due to stream on Netflix beginning on Nov 7th.

Continued below because #SFBASocial on #Mastodon apparently has gone back to a 500 character limit. 🙄

Random thank you to the #sfbasocial @moderators , and admins for the hard working building and maintaining an awesome community. Every day I'm thankful for the people on #mastodon and the content that make me smile or shed a tear.. Haven't for a single second regretted leaving my former social media platform.
Why does it feel like #SFBASocial is dead?

It's warm & #sunny in #EastCoCoCounty today. ☀️

The first time in months that I could open the door from my kitchen (where I spend most of my) to the backyard & breath some fresh air while trolling #SFBASocial & the rest of the Net. 🙂

If it's this nice again tomorrow, I'll take out my #LittleRedSportsCar for a drive into the #CentralValley to go to my favorite #DiveBar & #Restaurant -- #Lagarios -- in #Farmington for some #GrilledOysters. Yum!! 😊

📢 Community Announcement: Unplanned Outage and Recovery Sorry for the outage yesterday! TL;DR: We ran out of disk space on our database server while we were busy with other upgrades, which caused logins, posts, and feed updates to stop working. After troubleshooting, we fixed the issue and the instance is now fully operational. No data was lost. This outage was not related to the upcoming Mastodon 4.3 upgrade. Please see our full explanation here: https://hub.sfba.social/2024/10/24/october-23-2024-unplanned-outage-and-recovery/

My 2009 reading now added to SFBA.club. 96 books read. My mom died in late 2008, and I was taking care of my grandparents who were fading. I was neither in a mood to work, nor did the many schedule interruptions my grandparents' health care required allow me to. I had a lot of time on my hands, so I read.

We are reaching a crucial juncture in our journey, and your immediate attention and action are vital. Open Collective, our current platform and fiscal host for receiving tax-deductible donations(1) will stop allowing us to collect donations in just seven days.(2) As a result, we have to quickly shift how we manage and receive your invaluable contributions. *Immediate Action—Please Move Donations to Ko-fi* To ensure the continuous support of our community and projects, we ask that all our donors transition their donations to our new platform, Ko-fi (https://ko-fi.com/sfba_fedi). We urge you to make this switch as soon as you can. Your prompt response is essential to maintain the momentum of our initiatives and community engagement. *Your Existing Donations—and SFBA—Are Safe* While the shift away from Open Collective is sudden, we want to assure you that all existing donations are secure. And, by carefully managing our costs, we have sufficient funds available for 9+ months of operations. (1/3)
