Just learned about this #Alameda oddity today chatting with other parents at a birthday party: This dude runs a #recordlabel out of a storefront on Encinal Ave that does 100-copy vinyl pressings of mostly ambient and classical music and then designs custom packaging out of “modified candy boxes, antique Russian film canisters, old reel-to-reel boxes, and even vintage police evidence bags.” #alamtg #sfbamusic

I’m going to attempt to do this monthly and highlight local #sfbamusic #EastBayMusic.

It's not technically "new music," and it's not technically "from the East Bay," but the most interesting new music from the East Bay is a collection of #vintage #Sardinian #folkmusic from old #45s collected and released by Oakland-based blog/project/label @[email protected]. From what I can tell it's been 2.5 years since ShellacHead released anything, so this is a rare drop of guttural braying, droning pipes & frenetic #accordion.
