#FinishOrFrogAlong Day 12:
A local quilting shop has a UFO day, where sewists and quilters can work on unfinished projects. It's been great fun getting to know the team, as well as the store employees and owner. I love that this quilt and coverings are fully made from my stash!

I clearly recall packing up my case of presser feet, needles, and bobbins. However, I currently can't find it anywhere! I hope it returns.
I trimmed and edgestitched all of the #QuiltAsYouGo pieces to cover up the ugly cover of my precious Pöang chair. I'll need to add binding, but that should be able to wait until my #SewDay out of town, where I'll have about 20 quilters to answer my questions.

I'm on a roll right now with #sewing.
Today was a #SewDay at a local quilting shop and I'm thrilled that I completed 2 cute cherry-covered shopping bags with fabric I purchased with @jcurries when I was in #portland.
The staff at the shop were super friendly and helpful and they mentioned that a woman dropped off this functional Singer sewing machine in the cabinet and they don't want to keep it around. I'll get back to them tomorrow to see how much they want to get it out of their hallway.

Heehee, isn't creativity great that way? I'm so happy I have lots of #sewing time scheduled this fall because I was seriously spinning my wheels at Friday's #SewDay. I think I was able to get my machine unjammed and I purchased some necessary supplies yesterday so this week's 3 scheduled days should go a bit more efficiently.
Week 1 #FinishOrFrogAlong catch-up: Introduce yourself. What is your craft(s) of choice? What are your hopes? Your WIP philosophy?
Having spent a lot of my life pursuing multiple crafts at a time, I've decided to focus my time on #sewing. I didn't do much over the summer so it's been good to get a lot of my stash organized into project bags.
Yesterday was a #SewDay but after completing this duffle bag, I made bad cutting decisions, jammed my machine, and realized I had the wrong size of needles

Ugh, that's awful! With free parking and a 21-year-old car it usually costs me under $150/month to own/gas a car. It's been worth it for me to get around to locations that are off the bus routes, especially for a 4-week #roadtrip that I've taken, camping along the way. This will be year 3. Come winter, I may only insure the car for theft/fire until spring. I can use a car-share for my monthly #SewDay that's out of town.
@KDramaQn
No, I haven't abandoned it. I've just moved it a long way down in my WIP pile. First, I'll try to finish projects that don't require any new fabric purchases.
I haven't been #sewing since I got #COVID in mid-November and it really fills up my brain when I have a lot of projects on the go. It's been good to step away for awhile. I'll be joining a #SewDay tomorrow and attending a repair café (with sergers!) on Saturday so it's time to get my sewjo back!
@KDramaQn
Heehee, good luck with that! I bought some linen to make a jacket (apparently not quite enough) and I'm a bit appalled at how easily it frays! Many people love linen for garments but I'm not sure if your tablecloths will make that transition very easily!
I've got my machine all ready for my first #SewDay in 3 months to

@J_sonearmyonce Ugh. I got a few actual dirty looks and questions yesterday for masking at a #SewDay but most folks really believe that #Covid is over. Sorry that it found you. I don't know many people anymore who have escaped it.
It's been a good week, with a library #SewDay, a yoga class, a French discussion group, and several #kdrama #WatchParties
On tap this week:
#MyLovelyLiar: complete
#DestinedWithYou: airing now
#AlchemyOfSouls: Ep1
#KingTheEternalMonarch: starting out
#Healer: all-time #1, will finish next week, which makes me very sad and very happy
#HometownChaChaCha: watched Ep1 and LOLed at the Cinderella reference right up front. Very cute-a.

Oh, I did exactly one PDF pattern that I assembled with tape and scissors. that was detestable. Luckily, I found a lady nearby who will print me copy shop patterns on vellum for $3/sheet. I'm at a #SewDay today and spent the bulk of the day sorting out my various pattern pieces and taping them together. Finally cut out an actual shirt that I should be able to sew up quickly the next time I head out. I'm gradually figuring these patterns out.
