We finished the fifth module in my #Pathfinder #RiseOfTheRunelords game yesterday. I had thought the party would take two weeks to get finished, but instead of fighting their way through the Iron Cages of Lust, they bargained their way through and sent the succubus and her daughters back to the abyss where they belonged... and wanted to go anyway.

That means that next week will be #SessionZero for the original #Ravenloft module using #LightFantasy that emulates #DnD Basic/BX. We'll also be introducing new players to the group as a trial.

It'll be a nice break from dealing with feats and lengthy stat blocks in Pathfinder and act as a tryout for expanding the group for games after we finish our Pathfinder adventure path.

Gestern hatten wir #SessionZero für neue Rollenspielgruppe die ich leiten will. Am Anfang war ich mir unsicher ob es genug zu besprechen gibt und sich so ein Vortreffen, bei dem es um Wünsche, Grenzen, Erwartungen und Vorstellung von Rollenspiel geht lohnt bzw. nötig ist.

Es lohnt sich aber, es war gut dass wir das gemacht haben und wir haben dabei alle viel gelernt. Und obwohl es keine großen Problemthemen gab, gab es genug zu besprechen, wir hatten Spaß und einen guten Abend. #pnpde

Oof, I just came out of a #sessionzero feeling like I got hit by a truck. Enjoyed every minute, but #DMing my first long term #dnd5e campaign is gonna absolutely wreck me every week.

Yesterday, we finally started our #Masks game after the #sessionZero last month. We've got a Nova, a Bull, an Outsider and my Protege. I highly suspect our team works well right until it doesn't - our highest Mundane stat is +0, with it being my Mentor's Denied label.

I really liked how the MC framed the situations as comic panels. Plus, there was the obligatory barrage of jokes and puns.

I'm really looking forward to the next game already!

Yesterday, my #WerewolfTheApocalypse group had another #sessionZero since we recently added another player. It was a great discussion. Unfortunately, it also called to mind what I don't like about the older editions of Werewolf - the combat system is supposed to portray raging, feral monstrosities tearing and ripping enemies apart, but the systems behind it have us roll and resolve up to 4 checks per attack. I'd love to borrow some stuff from 5th edition Werewolf, but there are just so many supernatural abilities that build off the core mechanics that I'd have to rewrite.
