Die Seite rund um den #S9y Podcast ist zwar nur mehr Archiv. Aber aktuell soll sie technisch schon sein.

Update ging wie immer "flutsch". Neue Dateien hochgeladen. Kurze Update-Routine im Weg und feritg.

Entropy Quality

I am trying to confirm that it is safe to generate very high-importance private keys in Qubes Whonix. I’ve read every Wiki post and GitHub issue that Qubes/Whonix have on this topic (excellent work there Patrick) and I am close to being confident enough, but I want to be certain of a few more things. I think the main sources of credited entropy are the kernel’s in-built “Linus Jitter Dance” [1][2], haveged and jitterentropy-rngd. There’s also some uncredited entropy from dom0’s getrandom(0) [3]...

@NorcalGma2 at the same time I scrolled to this pretty post Morning Morgantown by Joni Mitchell started on the player. Two lovely things at the same time. Today has got to be a good day.

#Serendipity. Absolutely love chance encounters on a random train that lead to hours of conversation. And an energy boost of inspiration.
Happy weekend y’all!

I’ve been experimenting with a simple algorithm: on certain days, let a random selection of people, ideas, and quotes resurface together.

And then, on some days, magic happens.

Check out this PIQ practice in the new post of the Link&Think #serendipity series.

I met someone amazing today.

I needed to buy something on Facebook Marketplace. Just an external SSD, something to do quick backups of a server.

Found a promising one, messaged and we decided to meetup at a bar so I could bring a laptop and make sure the SSD worked. Well, today in SF, as you all know, it rained! So I stayed for a beer as I didn't want to bike back in the rain.

The guy ended up being this absolutely fascinating former tech worker now photographer, from Jordan.

We ended up talking a lot about art, school, MFAs, home, belonging, the state of the world... He had sent an application to the CCA the day before they announced they were closing but now he's going back to the middle east to study.

The most fascinating part of the conversation was just me listening to how much he wanted to express through his art. How all of his art had some purpose, meaning, message. Listening to him explain his inspiration was so touching. I love San Francisco.
