I'm not so sure that Danielle Smith isn't one of the separatists. She gives indications of being a #narcissist , meaning she'd gladly sell out Alberta to be its queen, or the Governor of the 51st state (more likely territory).

"Never forget, the “Alberta Separatist Movement” is a relatively small number of unhinged conspiracy nuts being fed a steady diet of Russian and US-made disinformation"

"They are operatives of a movement that has solicited a foreign government for support against the dismemberment of #Canada. They have built voter-#surveillance infrastructure on stolen personal data. They have publicly stated that lawful court processes are “meaningless.” They are, in plain English, working against the constitutional and territorial integrity of the country whose passports they carry." https://deanblundell.substack.com/p/the-alberta-file-how-a-foreign-backed?r=kqlfy&triedRedirect=true

Permanent injunction over privacy leak will be sought in court this summer

Each electoral list is “salted” with a few fictitious names that makes such documents easier to trace in the event of a breach. 👍️

The three most interesting paragraphs from this story, IMO:

"The Stay Free Alberta petitioners say they have collected 301,620 signatures, well over the 178,000 threshold that can prompt the province to consider a referendum question. "

"Gordon McClure, chief electoral officer, has said that [the verification] process will now also include a search for fake names seeded in copies of voter lists — designed as a mechanism to prove if improper use of the electoral list has been used.”

"A pro-unity ‘Forever Canadian’ petition had 404,293 signatures verified in December. That citizen initiative wants the government to consider making it official policy for Alberta to remain a part of Canada.”

Secret voter list sparks court crackdown and RCMP investigation into Alberta separatist app

Elections Alberta has obtained a temporary injunction against a separatist organization and political party for an app that allegedly built a database of voters drawn from the province’s list of electors.

Last night I mentioned to my better half that there was a really good chance of separatist-leaning (if not fully blown separatists) right on our own street that we probably don't even know about.

Just now, I am in the house and I hear better half talking to someone outside. At first I thought it was a separatist canvasser because I heard bits of the conversation "... I think we will be better off separated... because of.... muslim... "

I looked out the window. It was a neighbourhood senior from a few doors down. Sigh... another [white] senior going against their own best interests, never mind the best interests of her neighbours (doesn't seem to be of any concern to separatists).

It's going to take a long time to right the boat here in Alberta...
