Good morning my #SensorySeeking #Autistic folks!

What's the last #food or drink you bought just to find out what it was? Show me, maybe I want to try it 😋

Here's mine. I got all three varieties they offer (not the blend, which has chamomile which I can't have). Delicious, and seems to help with my arthritis.

Does anyone else have this same feeling too? #actuallyautistic #neurodivergentmemes #sensoryeuphoria #sensoryseeking
This is a sensory diet map. A few days ago I tooted about if you were either a sensory seeker, sensory avoidant or both and here are they type of things to do if you are a sensory seeker #AutuallyAutistic #AutismAcceptance #Neurodiversity #SensorySeeking #Neurodivergent

A little while ago someone had mentioned their children as one being "sensory seeking" and the other "sensory avoidant" and I really liked that shift in language to neurodivergance was so normalized in the context and immediately saw myself in it.

I'm definitely sensory seeking... not much sets me off. If it does I don't feel upset or disrupted by it. It just feels unpleasant and I stop. I hate mouth feels that are too mushy like overcooked, soft oatmeal, and I hate the feeling of corduroy.

But some things feel strange, or intense in a shock/unexpected way that gives me tingles and I like it. Like passion fruit ice cream, oe licking 9volt batteries

Author/Writing Retreat Day 1- We took a long break from writing to see the ocean. I’m utterly fascinated and soothed by water. It’s easy for me to spend hours lost in my head by the shore where I live, but we have a well protected bay at home not the open ocean. Here it’s long stretches of the Pacific. I watched the white caps until it was time to leave and even now at the B&B I can hear the ocean waves. #audhd #actuallyautistic #sensoryseeking #adhd #pacificocean

My conclusion so far based on limited sample size: people on #Instagram seem to be a lot more adventurous than #Mastodon 😆

If you had the opportunity to intentionally enter the tunnel of Helping Hands from Jim Henson's Labyrinth (1986), would you do it?

For the purposes of this thought experiment you can trust all of the owners of the hands, and you also have a safe word.

Saw mom today and it went ab as well as expected. I left feeling just drained and sad, but I got my squish to bring home! This was a gift from my fiancés mom our first Christmas together and I adore it. It’s such a great sensory sensation and just so comforting to just hold. His name is squishy. 😂 #ActuallyAutistic #ADHD #SensorySeeking #Squishmallow #Squishy
