I'm #SemiSpeaking #ActuallyAutistic because I require monotropic flow to organize my thoughts, which is difficult in social situations, and my age-intensified #hyperlexia and #ADHD has made that extra difficult.

Physical socializing is a #polytropic situation. There's environmental inputs, the person talking and my feeling of the person perceiving me. This prevents monotropic focus from forming so I can't organize a sentence.

Had another #semiverbal date yesterday. Woke up with a sweetie--same one as last happy semiverbal date--comfy and cuddly and happy but words felt out of sorts. I wanted to make cookies, so I went in the kitchen and grabbed my recipe, brought it to them with a smile, and nonverbally invited them to the kitchen to come cook it with me. 1/

Went mostly nonverbal at dinner last night and it was really nice, actually. Was on a date with my partner of ~4.5y. They're also autistic and have been super comfortable with me just not being especially verbal sometimes, but I think this is the first time I've really been almost completely nonverbal in a mainstream public setting where I still needed to interact with people. 1/ #ActuallyAutistic #semiverbal
