Tuota apinalaatikkoa nyt jälkikäteen katsoessa tajusin olleeni töissä tuossa Semicin vanhassa toimistossa (tai ainakin yhdessä talon monista identtisistä kerroksista).

Todella kummallinen ajatus, kun yhdistän Semicin konttorin aina lapsena lukemiini Niilo Pielisen käännöksiin, jossa belgialaisen Dupois'in tilalla on tamperelainen Semic.

Asiaa ei auta että oikealla toimistolla aikoinaan käyneet kuvailivat ne olevan täynnä sarjakuviin liittyvää rekvisiittaa.

After 4 years of this blog post being in draft, I’ve just published the initial motivation for working on Linked Data Event Streams #LDES and kept the date at which it was planned to appear: https://pietercolpaert.be/ldes/2021/09/03/ldes

It elaborates on the maintenance hell for APIs and replication hell with dumps, and how we are fighting this status quo with the #SEMIC LDES initiative.

Pöytäkirpputorilla oli Batmanin Ensimmäinen vuoden ensimmäinen osa (Batman 5/1987, Semic). Kun olin aiemmin löytänyt kirpputorilta Egmontin painoksen (2007), niin ajattelin verrata keskenään.

Yllätyin että näissä oli sama Riku Perälän käännös, tosin eri tavalla ladottuna. Kuvatiedostot ovat eri: paitsi että värityksessä on merkittäviä eroja (esim. poliisien ihonvärit), niin ruutusomitteluissa on eroja(!)

Tomorrow, 22d of May, the #SEMIC Community Workshop on Linked Data Event Streams will take place.
