Millennia in the making. Admiring the colouration & textures caused by water erosion in the sandstone cliffs along the Sydney coast. Minerals are carried through the sandstone by water & deposited in interesting patterns & orange hued tones. The deposits are visible as bands or layers in the rock. #erosion #Nature #Sandstone #Australia #NudeBeach #Naturism #Nude #Naked #Dissolution #Minerals #Science #Geology #SedimentaryRock #NoClothes #ClothesFreeLiving #FKK

This is one of my favorite places to take photographs. We didn't make it this summer, but I'm hoping to sneak in a fall trip instead.

#Breccia was found in #Poland, in the #HolyCross_mountains, in the #Wysniowka #quarry. The quarry is of the #Cambrian period. Breccia is a #rock composed of larger than 1 cm in diameter angular broken fragments of #minerals or rocks #cemented together by a fine-grained matrix. The word has its origins in the Italian language, in which it means "rubble".

I am planning what to give to Vilnius University Geological Museum

Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah
The sedimentary rocks that form Bryce Canyon National Park's sandstone cliffs were deposited in a lake and floodplain system 50 million years ago. They have been eroded into spires, hoodoos, and towers that make the Park one of the most beautiful in the US. The sentinels of rusty-red, orange, and peach stand guard against time itself. Learn more about this beautiful park here: https://www.nps.gov/brca/learn/nature/geologicformations.htm
