Current mood: Spicy Pillows with Bisexual Lighting

I'd seen a lot of mention of the Uniden SDS100 scanner battery puffing and failing, but I was not expecting one of ours to smash the battery compartment off the scanner to escape. The gaff tape is old so I suspect the plastic latch failed long ago.
