Ran a short rope protection and security course for some hill walking and scrambling friends of mine today. Included improvised harnesses, Italian hitch, clove hitch, assisted hoist, anchors, rappelling, classic belay, belays, prusicks, basic rescue and more. Hopefully everyone came away more confident about having to deal with an emergency situation. Anyway, it was a lot of fun and laughs in the strong winds.

Been back home in South #Wales, plenty of #hiking (Gower coast, Pen y Fan horseshoe), #running and a bit of unexpected #scrambling down on the coast path. Also set a new 10k PB (48:51) while aiming for technique rather than speed (it turns out, efficiency works).

Climbing final slopes of Fidel Fierro, Campanitas to Veleta Ridge, Sierra Nevada

2/2 Then its glorious scrambling to the exit of the Canuto Norte del Veleta. From here the Fidel Fierro route to the summit is taken, care needed on the broken rock walls.

The climb finishes on the very summit of Veleta. Yesterday our group (average age 65+!) reached the summit to the bemused stares of groups of younger hikers who had walked up to the summit.

A superb day scramble for the adventurous.
