I've been slow to share pictures of Stitches' first adventures after being rerigged. I'm excited to take her out again this weekend. #sailing#scow#JohnsonM16#melges
The splash guards, tillers, and tiller link all received four levels of sanding and a coat of satin spar varnish. They'll get two or three more coats before putting them back on the boat. #sailing#scow Just waiting on a quote from White Bear Boat Works this week on the re-rigging.
Such a lovely autumn day that I decided to go for a stroll along the waterfront and visit my old friend, the #scow#JaneGifford. What a delightful surprise to come across this #Chinese#dance troupe putting on a performance.
I took some 80 grit sandpaper to one of the tiller handles and half of the tiller link. I don't think I will have to remake the handles, but the material loss to get to good wood on the link is way too much. I have some red oak from Menards at the ready. We'll see about getting teak or mahogany some other year. #scow#sailing#m16scow
Picked up this lovely Johnson Boatworks M16 from 1980 this winter, which I finally took out of the garage and pressure-washed. Now to start forking out money to rerig it! I'd love to get her in the water this year! #sailing#scow
