One of my regular joys in life is to see if I can see the wind farm on Scout Farm from the Crescent at Salford. Whilst I always enjoyed being able to see it on the horizon, the pleasure was increased by managing to get it on my bike. It is 20 miles away by the easiest route but considerably further if taking a more pleasant scenic route. On Sunday, the 16th of November, it was such a clear day that I could actually see the blades turning on the turbines.

I only discovered the pool below a waterfall that flows through the ruined Cheesden Lumb Mill in the Cheesden Valley above Heywood, Greater Manchester, a few years ago, but it has become one of my favourite places I can reach on bike from my home in South Central Manchester. There were festivals held downstream at Deeply Vale in the 70s.
