Confined to the pine forests of the Scottish Highlands, the birds have been struggling to survive a series of threats from predators to climate change. But it seems there are signs of hope.

This was not the sunny day we were looking for...

Windy and mizzling, with a side order of squally showers this morning on the track from the Red Hut (now green).

After an hour or so I asked if she wanted to go back, yup she shot off back along the track. Mud was washed off with a wee swim in Loch Maree.

East of Achnasheen it was sunny. D'oh.
