Wee Heavy, Strong Ale, Barley Wine: to my palette they're all part of a continuum and I love 'em all. My son does not: most are too sweet, with overwhelming malt wine or odd flavors from the barrel.

He liked this one, and so do I: strong malt, but nicely balanced with the hops and yeast, dry rather than sweet, with a gorgeous deep amber color. If you like Scottish Ales, give this a try. If you don't, try this one anyway; you might like it.

The aroma is vaguely brown liquor with dark fruits and a noticeable alcohol that shouldn't be this pronounced at only 6.2% ABV.

Another bright day (I could get used to this) so another light(er) beer!

This #foundersBrewing Dirty Bastard seems a bit dirty with some particulate afloat in the bottle. It doesn’t seem to impact the malty sweet and fruity notes.
