This is why a multi-member constituency/single transferable vote system, which we're already familiar with because it is what we use in "local government" (Scotland has no local government) elections would in my opinion be preferable.

I am not (yet) at all persuaded that the current @ScottishGreens leadership are any good. I'm not sorry that Patrick Harvie is gone, but Lorna Slater is the Scottish politician who has impressed me most over the past five years and I'm very sorry she's been demoted.
My decision to vote Green is more about shifting the window to the left than positive support for the party, at this stage.

Alba has no money, and almost no remaining members. Mr Sleepy Cuddles is dead, their lone #MSP came as a defector but defected again, and there aren't enough transphobes to make it a going concern.

3 months on & the Green Party has grown to 216k members. Not due to corporate funding, polluters or pandering to the racist press, but folk determined to put Hope back on the ballot box.
They’re on track to become the largest party in the U.K. by membership. Their peak before Zack Polanski was 63k members in 2015. The magnitude of the growth is groundbreaking. #greens #ukpol #scotpol #politics #uk #elections
@kim_harding I'm really unhappy with how this story is being framed. Of course sewage sludge should be spread on our fields: it's excellent fertiliser, and it would be a very serious pollutant (because too rich in nutrients) if it went anywhere else. The problem is that it is contaminated with plastics, persistent toxins, and pharmaceuticals.
The problem is the (lack of) filtration.
I think the @theferret got this framing badly wrong (and I say this as a subscriber).
