Breaking Trek-adjacent good news. Mike McMahan, creator and showrunner of Lower Decks, has a new animated comedy greenlit by Prime Video.

It sounds as though it will be the anti-utopian future comedy.

V is a two-part 1983 US alien invasion sci-fi TV mini-series. Flying saucers arrive on Earth. The aliens appear to be friendly. Appearances can be deceptive. The special effects have a very 80s arcade game look. Fairly entertaining.

Lexx is of course the greatest scifi TV series ever made. It takes the established conventions of TV scifi and thoroughly stomps them. Crazy, stylish, sexy, sleazy, goofy, dark, wildly inventive, with no regard for good taste.
