Geometry is really only usable in drop position (for me). Extremely high bar position on the stem. I think this was the fashion era of "real bicyclists only use drop bars"

My hands were too greasy to pick up a phone, but 1970's Schwinn Varsity wheels are absolutely simple to clean and repack, as are the bottom brackets. All steel everything, bomber. This bicycle appears to have been rolling around with no/minimal grease for how many ever decades, LOL (and no damage to the bearings despite that). The only part of this bicycle that wasn't re-lubed was the headset, which is locked in place (probably a little bit of surface rust crammed in there...). #bikerepair #schwinn
Ordered replacement parts from the LBS, to arrive at some undetermined future time (for pickup at the store). The cost of parts (of course) is pricey, but again -- I am NOT doing this to acquire a new bicycle, I am doing this for the process of restoring the bicycle (and learning... plus, repairing stuff is therapeutic). i.e. it's the trip... not the destination. #ReduceRepairReuseRecycle #bikerepair #bike #schwinn

@NoNoBrainer Ich war gestern auch auf dem #schwinn und habe zwei Apple Fitness+ Trainings zu je 45 Minuten absolviert. Höllisch gut, aber schweißtreibend ohne Ende, ich tropfte aus jeder Pore. Die Intervalle waren echt heftig gestaffelt, das Training mit Emily hieß 30-30, also insgesamt 30x 30 Sekunden Vollgas & 30 Sekunden Pause. Jeweils ein Fünfer-Block, dann 90 Sekunden leicht, dann noch ein Fünfer-Block, dann ein ganzer Song Pause… Kalorien wurden verbrannt. 🥵
