Il Tempo: Meloni e Schlein da Mentana. Così dal fronte del No hanno provato a "buttarla in caciara"
"Non si vota su Meloni, ma alla fine pensi di votare sulla Meloni, te la tieni e alla fine non hai riformato la giustizia che non funziona. La Meloni si può mandare a casa tra un anno quando ci sono le politiche, ma ora si vota per una riforma sacrosanta e quindi si lancia una lepre da rincorrere per non guardare la realtà delle cose. Ma ho imparato che i cittadini sono molto più intelligenti di come pensa certa politica". Così il presidente del Consiglio, Giorgia Meloni, a "Sì o No" lo speciale dedicato al referendum in onda su La7. "E una riforma di responsabilità e meritocrazia sulla giustizia", aggiunge la premier la cui intervista è alternata con quella della segretaria del Pd, Elly Schlein.
"Dalla prima conferenza stampa che io ho fatto, appena questa pessima riforma è stata approvata in Parlamento, ho detto che noi non avremmo politicizzato, ma che mi aspettavo che sarebbero stati il governo e Giorgia Meloni a farlo. È andata esattamente così: noi abbiamo fatto tutta una battaglia sul merito, chiedendo un voto contro una riforma sbagliata per i cittadini", ha detto la leader dem. "Credo che il governo che abbia spiegato perfettamente quali sono i suoi obiettivi: il governo pensa che chi prende un voto in più alle elezioni non debba essere giudicato come accade a tutti i cittadini. Questo è un governo che pensa di poter decidere chi fa il giudice e chi no, a seconda che gradisca o meno le sue decisioni".
Meloni ha osservato che "sicuramente non è stata una bella campagna elettorale, perché c'è stato questo tentativo, si direbbe a Roma, di 'buttarla in caciara', di individuare il nemico, di spaventare la gente, di dire cose che non c'entravano assolutamente niente. È questo che mi ha convinto negli ultimi giorni a dedicarmi a questo tema, non perché non fossi consapevole che poi ci sarebbe stata l'accusa di politicizzazione ma per spiegare su che cosa si va a votare, perché ho trovato veramente orrendo il fatto di mentire, dover mentire per essere convincenti e questo devo dire è accaduto prevalentemente da parte del fronte del No. Dopodiché ovviamente i toni che sono stati utilizzati hanno portato a dei falli di reazione anche nella nostra metà campo e quindi complessivamente non è stata una bella campagna elettorale".

But I’ve learned that citizens are much smarter than some politicians think.” This is what Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said on “Yes or No” the special dedicated to the referendum on La7. “And a reform of responsibility and meritocracy in the justice system,” adds the premier whose interview is alternated with that of the Pd secretary, Elly Schlein.
“Since the first press conference I held, as soon as this terrible reform was approved in Parliament, I said that we wouldn’t politicize things, but that I expected the government and Giorgia Meloni to do it. It went exactly that way: we waged a whole battle on merit, asking for a vote against a reform that was wrong for citizens,” said the Democrat leader. “I believe the government has perfectly explained what its objectives are: the government thinks that whoever takes one vote more in elections shouldn’t be judged as happens to all citizens. This is a government that thinks it can decide who is a judge and who isn’t, depending on whether they like or dislike its decisions.”
Meloni observed that “certainly it wasn’t a beautiful election campaign, because there was this attempt, one might say in Rome, to ‘throw it in the cheese,’ to identify the enemy, to scare people, to say things that absolutely had nothing to do with it. This is what convinced me in the last few days to dedicate myself to this topic, not because I wasn’t aware that there would then be the accusation of politicization, but to explain what you’re voting on, because I found truly appalling the act of lying, having to lie to be convincing, and this mostly happened on the part of the No front. Afterwards, of course, the tones that were used led to reaction failures even in our part of the field, and so overall it wasn’t a beautiful election campaign.”
