What the heck is wrong with  #matrix? We're looking for a platform for communication during a larger measurement campaign and from the featureset concluded with either #Mattermost or Matrix (subgroups, archivable, mobile/desktop/web clients, etc.).

But the #ElementX app and #FluffyChat app just won't even list the rooms in our space (on matrix.org, maybe that's the problem...), they just load forever. No problem in element web or #Schildichat. What. the. heck.

Pues hoy, tras una buena temporada, he vuelto a husmear un poco en #Matrix a ver cómo marcha la cosa.

Sigue sin gustarme #Element, ahora reemplazada por #ElementX.

He probado también con #SchildiChat, que ahora está tambien reemplazada por #SchildiChatNext, y... joer, es que es Element con peluca. Literalmente, es la misma app y solo le añaden una cosa llamada "Tortu-extras" que son dos opcioncillas insignificantes.

Sigo sin verle razón de ser a Matrix, no aporta nada respecto a XMPP y encima huele mal.

Petit rappel (ou gros) : Vous vous connectez à #mastodon de manière continue sur votre smartphone ? Vous avez quitté les messageries instantanées #meta ? Pensez aux notifications push de vos applications, si votre téléphone n'est pas #dégooglisé, il y a de fortes chances que vos notifications (messages reçus, évènements liés à vos comptes...) transitent pas les passerelles de Google. Et si votre smartphone est dégooglisé, il est probable que vos applis n'ont pas accès aux notifications push, elles doivent donc "consulter" régulièrement l'état de vos comptes pour voir si quelque chose est arrivé, c'est moins efficace et ça consomme de la batterie. Sur cette capture d'écran, on peut voir qu'il a 2 abonnements qui ont été initiés par les 2 applis que j'utilise régulièrement, #Tusky pour Mastodon, et #Schildichat pour #matrix (fork d'Element). A propos d'Element, si vous ne souhaitez pas de services tiers (vector.im pour ne citer que lui), je vous conseille d'utiliser un client matrix autre que Element, Schildichat propose les mêmes choses mais il est axé sur la vie privée, un peu comme #librewolf au lieu de #firefox. Je mets à disposition ma passerelle push, je ferai sans doute une vidéo pour expliquer comment la mettre en place sur votre mobile. https://push.mesnumeriques.fr

Ob es in absehbarer Zeit wirkliche Unabhängigkeit geben kann, weiß ich nicht. Alternative Angebote sind hier essenziell wichtig.
Einen großen Teil gibt es diesbezüglich schon, z.B. Messenger wie #Signal und verschiedene für Matrix (#SchildiChat, #Element).
Ferner #Linux statt Windows, #OpenSource statt MS Office, Mail-Anbieter wie #posteo und #mailbox_org und #Proton. Anbieter für Cloudspeicher wie #Nextcloud und #Ionos.

Ganz wichtig, denke ich, ist es auch, dass wir Nutzer bereit sein müssen, uns umzustellen und Neues zu lernen. Und vor allen Dingen nicht erwarten, dass uns alles auf dem Silbertablett serviert wird. Eigeninitiative und selbstständiges Erarbeiten sind für mich entscheidende Stichworte.

I use #SchildiChat with a matrix.opencluod.lu that is operated by @[email protected], an #hacktivist for digital human rights I trust, and I've never had any usability issues.

If you want to get the most recent version of #SchildiChat Next from #fdroid. I recommend adding the repo

You can add it from the website if you browse from an #android device, and have the FDroid app installed.

And then you will find the $PushNotification system functional, and the notifications sent to you using your #UnifiedPush app and server.

Хто ще шукає сервер для підключення до #Matrix?

Ось доволі стабільний сервер із відкритим доступом, який постійно оновлюється та має гарне з’єднання. Він пропонує багато можливостей, як і офіційний сервер Matrix — навіть пошук друзів чи родичів за email у списку користувачів.

Також потрібно отримати токен для реєстрації на цьому сервері за посиланням нижче. Його використання запроваджене, щоб уникнути масової реєстрації девіантів (небажаних користувачів).
