Australians lost $334.4 million to scams in 2025, according to the latest ACCC Scamwatch data – a slight increase from 2024.
Investment scams remain the most damaging at $172 million, followed by phishing and romance scams. People aged 65+ lost almost $89 million, the highest of any age group.
