Attention gamers: do not click unsolicited game links or run commands sent in DMs or unknown channels. Scammers send links that can capture your IP and steal personal data (payment info, IDs, credentials). This technique was used in prior Discord compromise incidents.

1. If you clicked: immediately change passwords, enable 2FA, run a malware scan, and contact your bank if you entered payment details.

2. Prevent: only use official download links, verify senders via another app, and never run console commands from messages. Report suspicious accounts to Discord.

Just as a heads-up for NA folk, there's a rather sophisticated three-pronged scam making its rounds that preys on the elderly using AI-moulded voices and a strong aura of a sense of urgency to 'escrow' funds, with followup calls seemingly coming from bank services or tax/law enforcement, claiming heavy penalties would happen if they didn't make their 'payment'.

The FBI is aware of this.
If you have an elderly who was affected by this, be it an older mother, grandparent, or adjacent, file a complaint. You will need some details.
