Sharing a moment with Chesterman Beach, just outside of Tofino. I was born in town, and my mom’s ashes are out here too. It was real nice to sit and commune with the energy here.

I didn’t have the best relationship with my mom, and we weren’t talking when she died. I thought coming out here a few years ago would open a dialogue with her, but she’s not here, and wasn’t today either.

If she’s moved on, maybe it’s time I did the same. This is my home, ashes be damned. And it feels like it used to.

Well, it is done. I wrote on my blog at https://www.spiritualbnr.org/living-in-reality about how today would most likely be Sadie’s last day with us. The vet agreed that it was time. We got to say our goodbyes and be with her as she passed over the rainbow bridge. She’s not hurting anymore. 🌈💕 #SayingGoodbye #DogsOfMastodon

How do you move on after the loss of a pet? What helps you celebrate their life and cherish the memories you have with them?

My beloved cat Pinky passed away the day before yesterday. I've created a feeble memorial in his memory -- a collection of his favorite toys and keepsakes on the stool he sat on when he looked out his favorite window each morning.

Pinky, you are loved and so dearly missed.
