#OnThisDay in 2009, the East San José Carnegie Branch Library reopened in an expanded building that still includes the #SouthBay’s last Carnegie library. But this library is well within *Central* #SanJose. What gives?

There used to be a separate Town of East San José here. After it got annexed, its Carnegie Library joined the #SanJosePublicLibrary system and the town was mostly forgotten – except now on #OpenHistoricalMap. https://www.openhistoricalmap.org/relation/2746780 https://www.openhistoricalmap.org/relation/2704951

What other #TriviaNight fodder can South Bay #OpenStreetMap contributors add to the map? Join us for our map night tonight at 7 online: https://www.meetup.com/open-source-san-jose/events/295356177/

OpenHistoricalMap is a project designed to store and display map data throughout the history of the world. This is a work in progress, we'll be playing around with many new features as we time-enable the site. We encourage you to start playing around and editing data, too.
