Trump administration cancels program to protect Alabamans from raw sewage

On January 20, President Trump's first day back in office, he issued an executive order requiring the federal government to terminate "all discriminatory programs, including illegal DEI and 'diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility' …mandates, policies, programs, preferences, and activities in the Federal Government, under whatever name they appear." The executive order specifies that this includes all "environmental justice" programs.

The first semi-public restrooms in the US appeared in the late 1800s, in bars, to keep drinkers drinking.

For women, the first public gender-segregated "comfort stations" came in the early 1900s; but only for white women.

Those facilities acknowledged women's hard-won right to be out in public.

Now US cities have vanishingly few public restrooms. Does that signal that NO ONE has the right to be out and about in public?
