Working on a new game, Sanguine: The Forsaken. This is a Game Boy first person RPG I hope to submit to @zine. It's up on itch now, but it's really rough with only a short dialogue scene.

Right now I'm trying to learn how to switch background tiles, then I need to work on the battle system.

Day 56

There’s a personal project I’ve been working on, and I want to push it forward as much as possible before real life catches up with me. So I’m going to drop the daily drawings down a notch in priority.

I’m still drawing every day, but for a while they’ll be a bit simpler. I also think I’m going to take a break from sanguine.

Got a new IF added to itch... late and half done, but better than nothing. https://plutoerebus.itch.io/sanguine-a-time-of-monsters

Unlike my other IFs this has a variables and an achievement-like ending tracker.

Not sure when I'll finish this since the second half of the story needs work.

Day 50

I ended up going to bed around 4am yesterday, and as a result I was too tired to do anything for the rest of the day.

I’ve also been thinking a lot about why progress with sanguine feels more frustrating than with graphite. I think it’s because I don’t worry as much about staying clean with graphite since the messiness feels like part of the process. But with sanguine, and especially when I’m using multiple shades, not keeping things clean ends up creating muddy drawings.
