Saint Maud is my kind of horror, psychological much more than physical (gore, etc.), and well-acted, directed, and shot.
It reminded me very much of Breaking the Waves in its depiction of a certain kind of faith.
Even though I understood what was happening, the way the ending was shot still made the truth gut-wrenching.
The final shot may be the best in the history of movies. It's definitely among the best possible.

Maud fühlt eine so starke Verbindung zu Amanda, weil sie sich in einem ähnlichen Prozess befindet. Nur, dass Amanda keine Wahl zu haben scheint. Eine Krankheit drängt sie aus ihrem einstigen Leben und führt eine radikale Entfremdung herbei. Doch Mauds Trauma scheint sich anders zu manifestieren – und zwar als Dissoziation.
