Reading “The Rule of Benedict” by Joan Chittister-where she elaborates on St. Benedict’s ideas from the 5th Century-

For today-she makes the point that we should consider letting ourselves by shaped by a life lived with others in community first, before we consider isolating too much, trying to “find ourselves” or to “find God” or whatever.

American individualism is very opposite of Kingdom Living!

True Spirituality, I believe, is a balance of time apart, and time lived with others, as Jesus did.
