Admittedly, I've always been on the fringe of their viewership models but recently I seem to have nosedived completely out of the demographic altogether.

Netflix: "What do you want to watch?"

Me: "Got any shows about a Danish software developer stuck in Florida restoring a hurricane damaged catamaran using only his wits and a scrum board?"

Netflix: "Uhm... No."

Me: "Okay - back to Youtube then."

Hurricane Milton is on its way and each forecast has it slipping south. It was just upgraded to a Cat 1. Addison and I moved last night in the dark while it was calm and we're nestled in the mangroves. This is going to be a long week.

Aufbau Steuerbord läuft. Wir nutzen altes Holz wo möglich, und ersetzen wo nötig. Unser Wassertank (1 von 2) zeigt an der Unterseite Spuren von Korrosion. Damit wir das in naher Zukunft beheben können, haben wir den Holzdeckel der Länge nach geteilt. So können wir ohne Zerstörung den Tank herausnehmen.

Weiter gehts mit der Reparatur: Eigentlich sind Valiants berühmt für die hohe Bauqualität. Doch unsere ist eine der ersten. Das Holz hat keine gute Qualität, und es wurde auch auf Schutz wie Epoxy am Rand verzichtet. Das Ergebnis: Die Lagen lösen sich voneinander.

Bleibt nichts, als zu tauschen was nicht zu retten ist. Da hört man mit der Softwareentwicklung auf und ist trotzdem ständig am patchen.
