The "Nikki Haley is ignorant" discourse is missing the point.
She is not stupid or ignorant, she is telling her voters what she knows they want to hear.
She knows it's a lie, but all GOP candidates must tell lies, because the truth is abhorrent to their voters.
They want a fairy tale where they are not the bad guys, even if it means erasing the victims and the wrongdoings and following that up with more abuses.
All they require is that someone keeps up that razor-thin veneer.
