Continuing along the main Shinkansen route, day 18 of my first Japan trip in 2006 brought me to Okayama, where I went to see the castle and Korakuen. Went to Kurashiki in the afternoon and stayed at a Ryokan (Japanese inn).

This is what I call an #onsen day when you should be sat in a natural hot spring onsen ideally located in a traditional Japanese #ryokan , overlooking a river running down a gorge carved out by volcanic activity and watching the rain fall on ancient firs on the other side of the gorge.
