Ohaguro (γζ―ι») is the traditional Japanese procedure of coloring the teeth black. It was once worn by nobles, samurai and later by married women as a symbol of beauty, maturity and social status and was also used to protect teeth from decay. Filling the gap between rot and flourish, perishing and pure if there ever was one.
