#UK teacher #strike: #union would "not accept #privatisation of our schools through a politicised #Ofsted process"

Good news for the New year: the new Chief of #OFSTED has made his first move to halt #school inspections while inspectors receive #wellbeing awareness training & the organisation conducts an internal review of its role in #RuthPerry's suicide.
This is heartening for #Teachers, but this review mustn't be a profile managing exercise, rather it must see real reform to remove the attrition element from inspections & make them (as they should be) supportive & constructive.

Q. hs the dam broken on complaints about #OFSTED inspectors in the wake of #RuthPerry's death?
Well it certainly looks that way.... what is now needed is widespread withdrawal of cooperation with OFSTED to force a rethink of how accountability is structured in #schools.
No-one is saying #schools shouldn't be inspected, but no-one can believe (any more) that OFSTED is in any way fit for purpose!

Well, well, well, at the #RuthPerry inquest, #OFSTED have been accused of giving misleading statements about the training available to inspectors on assuring #Headteachers' wellbeing during inspections.
Its almost like OFSTED is trying to avoid responsibility by taking the 'bad apple' defence by suggesting its the inspectors at fault not the system itself....
It will be interesting to see how this plays out for them
The Ruth Perry case - I really hope they turn over every stone. Sounds like the system offers a lot of power to do harm potentially, in principle at least, which is always a problem. Who inspects the inspectors, I wonder what the system is for that?
