TimJust off the phone from a bit of family tech support. Shout out to rustdesk! This is really good remote control software, and even though it sounds like they have a lot of trouble with spam / abuse, they're still working hard to provide a great service. I appreciate you!

Über Deskreen hatte ich vor einiger Zeit berichtet: Via HDMI-Dummy lässt sich damit ein Tablet als zweiter Bildschirm verwenden.
Aber es geht noch mehr: Rustdesk (evtl. auch andere Remote-Anwendungen) interpretiert ebenfalls den Dummy als "echten" Monitor und verteilt korrekt beide Remote-Schirme auf die physisch vorhandenen Bildschirme (es muss dafür kein Tablet verbunden werden).

the app has become USELESS to me, due to a recent policy change at RD. they no longer allow users to anonymously use their public relay server. Now they insist instead that RD users must either self-host on their own personal server [i do not have a server], or else they must register for their relay server using only a google or a microsoft account [fuck-off] or a github account. Ofc I tried the latter, but nothing happens, it just says “waiting…”.
this is the onscreen popup msg the app now throws up:

Due to ongoing scamming and botnet abuse, this public server currently requires users to log in before connecting.
If botnet abuse continues, controlled devices may also need to authenticate, using a user-friendly approach suitable for headless environments and one-time support scenarios.
